State police in York said Rodney Paul Miller, chief of the Loganville Volunteer Fire Department in Seven Valleys, was diverting traffic on I-83 at exit 8 from an earlier crash when he was struck by Matthew Scott Diehl, of Shrewsbury.Diehl struck Miller, who was directing vehicles off the highway at 12:51 a.m. Miller was pronounced dead at York Hospital, police said.
